Support Rozenoord Viaduct A10
Final support structures and fall protection
Project details
In 2021, inspections showed that the Rozenoord Bridge over the Amstel, which is part of the A10, was no longer structurally adequate. The Rozenoord Bridge A10 construction consortium asked the combination of Civil technieken deBoer and Rijnstaal Nieuwegein to produce, supply and assemble a permanent support structure. The Rozenoord Bridge is a concrete bridge with a prestressed deck, built in the 1960s, with a length of 265 meters and 5 spans. The middle two span the Amstel. In order to make this bridge structurally safe again, we have built very heavy support structures, up to 40 tons each. Special machines and special techniques were used to assemble these structures under the deck, with limited height. We carried out this work ‘self-supporting’, whereby we complied with all relevant standards and guidelines, such as the ROK.
